Woman: In our studio today we’re talking to Douglas Banks. Could you tell us about your character Kyle in your latest film?
Man: Kyle is very different from the characters I used to play. I usually got classic roles like Romeo in Romeo and Juliet. Kyle was a great chance to act as a real teenager, to go back to school and actually just have fun.
Woman: Kyle is a musician, but how musical are you?
Man: Before I became an actor, I played the trumpet. My parents wanted me to become a trumpeter, like my cousin. I thought it wasn’t a bad idea. Yet, for the role of Kyle I had to learn the guitar. One of my best friends helped me and he also tried to make me look like a real rock star. We were filming in a club in Chicago. The club was open only to our team, but even though I had no real audience, that was my rock star moment.
Woman: Wouldn’t you like to become a musician?
Man: Maybe one day, not now. I hardly have time to keep my phone battery charged, so starting a music career at the moment seems impossible.
Woman: I know you are dyslexic. How does that influence your life?
Man: When I was at school, I had some problems. However, now I think it makes you a better person, more determined and tough. As long as you work hard, it actually teaches you how to solve problems.
Woman: Thank you, Douglas.
