Today we’re going to talk about food labelling. As you may have noticed, the UK Food Standards Agency has introduced a traffic light labelling scheme. Food products are labelled red, green or yellow depending on the levels of sugar, fat, saturated fat and salt in the product. An online survey carried out among 250 participants shows that the colour green indicating the low fat content of products has led to a significant, positive effect on consumer choices. However, products with organic labels have been chosen less frequently by consumers since the traffic light labels were included on the product packaging. Quite surprising, isn’t it? To my mind, this may be caused by a shift in attention. When there were no traffic lights, the organic label was the main factor that guided consumer choices. But now, when the consumers see traffic light labels, they pay less attention to the organic label.

Have you ever woken up in the morning and wished that your bed would just make itself? Well, a Spanish furniture company has come up with an interesting solution.
Their new smart bed represents a significant improvement for the lazy. Three seconds after the person gets out of the bed, mechanical arms begin pulling the pillows, sheets, and blankets back into place. The entire bed-making process takes about 50 seconds from start to finish.
Overall, the smart bed seems great! However, it does have one big flaw: the bed only works with the company’s bedding, so you have to add this expense to the £1,000 for the bed itself. So think twice before you decide to spend this much. I mean, seriously, how long does it take you to make your bed?

Man: How is it going at the office?
Woman: Well, it’s OK, but the stuff I’m supposed to do is getting more and more tedious. You know, it’s mostly about filing and archiving, nothing that could allow me to make my mark and capture my employer’s attention. I’d really love to be taken on by this company after I graduate. One of the girls from my department has just got more ambitious tasks and I think I’ve got more skills and better qualifications than she has.
Man: Don’t worry. Take my advice, do your best and remember that hard work along with dedication rarely go unnoticed.
