I have never thought about writing. Quite honestly, I used to dislike writing more than I now dislike maths.

When I entered high school, I prepared a list of whatwhywhich I wanted to do in my life. However, that quickly changed.

I fell in love with words. I was going rounddownthrough a difficult time, and at those hard moments when I needed to talk, I didn’t always have someone to turn to. Writing was the only way I could make myself feel better again. When I was in my junior year, I sent in my application for a two week creative writing program in New York.

A few months later, I toldwas toldhad told that I was one of the 33 people accepted. When I arrived in New York for the Summer Writing Program, they informed me that over 300 people had applied. I felt pretty special.

The two weeks changed me. We spent each three-hour class working on a different type of writing, and sothennow explored the excitement that New York was hiding in its busy streets.

I becamelearntmade friends and gained experiences that were unique and fascinating.

Now I know that writing is, and always will be, a part of me.
