adapted from http://magazines.scholastic.com
Zadanie 3.1.
Last month, the oldest known message in a bottle was discovered in the Baltic. It had spent more than 100 years lost in the sea.
A fisherman found the bottle near the coast of Germany. Fortunately, the man saw a piece of paper inside. The bottle contained a postcard with two stamps, dated 1913.
Zadanie 3.2.
Although most of the writing was not clear, the part of the message that was readable asked the finder to return it to a Berlin address. At the time when he wrote the message he was 20. The Hamburg’s Maritime Museum managed to find his granddaughter, Angela Erdmann, who is now 62. Last week she saw the message for the first time. Ms Erdmann never knew her grandfather, but says that because of the discovery she wants to learn more about him.
Zadanie 3.3.
The bottle and the message will be shown at the museum until May. As for the bottle, its future is not clear yet.
